Jamaican Green Seasoning Recipe

Traditional Jamaican Green Seasoning/ Caribbean Green seasoning.

These blended Herbs and Spices are a staple in a Jamaica/Caribbean kitchen.

Green seasoning adds depths of flavour to a variety of meals, adding fresh aromatic herbs and flavours.

Whether you are cooking meats, fish, veggies or sauces. Be sure that this seasoning will bring out the flavour in your dish.

With a handful of fresh ingredients blended together to create a rich and spicy seasoning in a few minutes.

 

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 2 scallions green onions
  • 10 cloves of garlic
  • 8 whole pimento seeds
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • handful of fresh thyme
  • 1 scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 inch ginger root peeled

Instructions
 

  • To make the process easier when blending, roughly chop all the veggies. 
    Add all ingredients into a blender including the water. Blend until smooth for about 1-2 minutes. 
    Add a little more water if needed for a more smooth consistency. 
  • Add the green seasoning to a mason jar or a tightly sealed container and store in the refrigerator for a week. 
  • Notes:
    When using green seasoning in recipes, you can use 2-3 tbsps. Green seasoning works perfectly on meat, vegetables, soups etc.
