Honey BBQ Baked Chicken

In this recipe we will be using a homemade Honey BBQ sauce to glaze over some flavourful baked chicken.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Kg Chicken leg quarters
  • 2 tbsp All Purpose seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Meat seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp Green seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Garlic and Ginger Paste
  • ½ tbsp Paprika
  • ½ tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp MSG
  • 1 tbsp Avocado oil

Honey BBQ Sauce

  • 1 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • After cleaning your chicken, place your chicken into a bowl, add olive oil and massage into the chicken.
    Add all your seasonings (all purpose, meat seasoning, green seasoning, garlic and ginger paste, paprika and Cayenne Pepper).
    Massage the seasonings into the chicken. Leave to marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
     
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Place foil paper and parchment paper. Place chicken onto baking tray. Place into the oven. Cook Chicken for 45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes take chicken out and turn each chicken - this is to brown each side of the chicken.
    Drain all Chicken juices into a bowl, this will help make your sauce later.
    Cook Chicken for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Whilst chicken is cooking combine all ingredients to make sauce.
    Using The chicken juices you reserved earlier.
    Add honey, ketchup, brown sugar, Garlic powder, salt, paprika and apple cider vinegar. Stir well to combine.
  • Coat chicken on all sides with BBQ sauce, bake at 150 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Take chicken out oven once done cooking and serve.
